The Voice Project

The Project began in McKean county, by our founder, a woman falsely incarcerated, facing abandonment by her family and while, having financial resources, was faced with only being represented by the local Public Defender's office.

 

Having had an extensive career in a variety of different professions including education, international business and technology, she was faced with being only able to be represented by the likes of attorneys who are used to working with desperate and abused women with no financial means to a defense.​
 

The purpose of SAFR is to help women, who, in most cases, are a victim of domestic abuse, violence or addiction as a result of a broken system of mental health care system facing Pennsylvania.

At a time when women are struggling to raise children alone, abandoned by family and, in most cases the father of their children, many women turn to desperate means to support themselves.  What then happens is their "means" are often illegal and they are then subject to incarceration without hope.

SAFR is an AD HOC, non profit organization meant to provide hope to those who's voices deserve a chance to be heard.

90% of every dollar donated on SAFR, goes directly into an account in "trust" with our growing pool of lawyers and support workers who feel the desire to "give back" to the community of women in dyer need to help and hope. Some work freely, others work for considerably reduced rates to help women feel SAFR.
